Did you know that Americans from the Punjab region of India have the highest prevalence of celiac disease in the United States?

This spring, the Celiac Disease Foundation was a title sponsor of the inaugural Asian Pacific Celiac Disease Symposium (APCDS) 2024, and was represented by Principal Science & Innovation Advisor Dr. Robert Anderson. The conference was organized by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Association of Gastroenterology (APAGE) and the International Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (ISSCD) with participants from 16 countries. The goal of the symposium was to unite professionals, researchers, and thought leaders in the field to address key challenges in diagnosis and treatment of celiac disease in the Asia Pacific region. Highlights of the event included robust roundtable discussions, brainstorming sessions with international and national experts, and workshops tailored to the needs of pathologists, dietitians, and patients.

Congratulations to Dr. Govind Makharia and colleagues for hosting a wonderful event! Learn more about future conferences here.
