On May 20 the Disease Foundation hosted its third annual award reception at Digestive Disease Week in Washington, D.C. From prestigious global research prizes to inaugural student and policy leadership awards, the event spotlighted the extraordinary contributions of individuals dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by celiac disease.

As we look toward the summer months, the team here at the Celiac Disease Foundation is actively working on a number of new projects that are vital to elevating our mission to promote diagnosis, treatments, and a cure for celiac disease.

During the month of May, the Celiac Disease Foundation is taking the opportunity to honor the advocacy efforts of our dedicated, inspiring celiac disease patient community.

DDW 2023 showcased some of the latest research and innovations in celiac disease. These included promising early results from four investigational medications currently being tested for the treatment of celiac disease, as well as CDF research conducted in partnership with Takeda and Adelphi Real World.

This week I will be traveling to attend an international symposium hosted by the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University. This event is a valuable opportunity for leaders and influencers in celiac disease research to connect, share, and learn.
