The SynCeD Study is looking for adult volunteers with celiac disease to join a phase 2a clinical trial. Your participation could make a difference. 

Each November the Celiac Disease Foundation hosts our annual Turkey Trot to raise funds for celiac disease research to accelerate treatments and a cure. On November 11 and 12, more than 1,200 supporters from 38 states and countries around the world laced up to move 3.1 miles (5K) for a cure.

A recent international study co-authored by Celiac Disease Foundation grant award winner Dr. Benjamin Lebwohl aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in patients with celiac disease. Results revealed that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine offers the same level of protection against the virus for patients with celiac disease as it does for those without the autoimmune disease.

This October the Celiac Disease Foundation hosted physicians and healthcare representatives from more than 15 hospitals for a gluten-free meal to celebrate researchers and officers of NASPGHAN’s Celiac Special Interest Group and the important work they do through their care for our patient community.

A recent study published in The Lancet Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology sought to determine the accuracy of blood (serological) tests in celiac disease diagnosis in adults. The results of this study are interesting, to say the least.

As we head into fall, I am happy to share that our 2023 Virtual Turkey Trot is right around the corner – and our team is gearing up for a terrific event! As our biggest annual fundraiser helping move us toward treatments and a cure for celiac disease, the Turkey Trot offers our community a wonderful opportunity to promote our shared mission.

On November 5, Team Gluten-Free runners unite to run the 2023 TCS NYC Marathon with the common goal of accelerating diagnosis, treatments, and a cure for the 3 million Americans affected by celiac disease. We are so grateful to these six runners for their inspiring efforts and invite you to learn more about what drives them to support our collective mission.
