Celiac Disease Foundation Honors Representative Betty McCollum with Celiac Disease Policy Leadership Award

The Celiac Disease Foundation on May 22 awarded its first Celiac Disease Policy Leadership Award to U.S. Representative Betty McCollum (MN-04) for her distinguished service and advocacy on behalf of the celiac disease patient community. Among other initiatives, she established the bipartisan Congressional Celiac Disease Caucus, which has significantly increased federal recognition of celiac disease.

Medical Nutrition Therapy Act Introduced in Senate, House

We are pleased to share that the Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Act of 2023 has been introduced in both the U.S. Senate and in the U.S. House of Representatives. Securing insurance coverage for registered dietitian nutritionist visits for celiac disease patients is a priority, and we are encouraged to see progress toward this goal.
