Last week, the Celiac Disease Foundation, as part of The Defense Health Research Consortium, co-signed a letter requesting a budget increase for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs.

The FDA released the long-awaited draft guidance, “Celiac Disease: Developing Drugs for Adjunctive Treatment to a Gluten-Free Diet."

On May 11, Sophia Schilling, Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04), distributed a letter to the Members of the Congressional Celiac Disease Caucus. This is a notable event as it was the first official letter to the Caucus members.

Last week, Celiac Disease Foundation Patient Advocates met with the staff of their Members of Congress to advocate for expanded NIH funding for celiac disease research in FY2023, and including celiac disease in the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs.
