The Celiac Disease Foundation is proud to continue our partnership with the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University in presenting an annual livestream international symposium, this year titled “Celiac Disease: On the Horizon.” Now everyone can experience recordings of the symposium for both days of programming. Presented April 29-30, 2023, this scientific program brought together physicians, dietitians and nutritionists, scientists, industry, federal agency representatives, patients, caregivers and advocates to learn about the latest developments in celiac disease diagnosis, management, and future treatments.
In the Day One afternoon program, learn about the Celiac Disease Foundation’s role in securing federal funding for celiac disease research in the Funding Opportunities in Celiac Disease Research and Management session, where CEO Marilyn Geller shared information about new and existing research grant awards offered by the Foundation and provided an update on funding through the National Institutes of Health that will advance patient well-being. Also participating in this session were Dr. Annette Rothermel from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), who provided key agency updates on celiac disease, and Dr. Kathryn Argue, of the Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) at the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (DOD-CDMRP), who provided a program overview about this new opportunity for celiac disease research funding.
