Research Grant Awards
The Celiac Disease Foundation is committed to driving diagnosis, treatments, and a cure for celiac disease. A central part of this mission is supporting research that advances scientific understanding, clinical care, and patient outcomes.
Through its Research Grant Awards, the Foundation funds groundbreaking studies at leading institutions to accelerate discovery and innovation in celiac disease.
Advancing Discovery Through Collaboration
The Foundation funds its own competitive Research Grant Awards and also partners with Takeda, the International Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (ISSCD), the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), and the Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (SSCD) to expand opportunities for high-impact research worldwide.
These collaborations foster a global research network dedicated to improving diagnosis, developing new treatments, and ultimately finding a cure for celiac disease.
Empowering Innovation at Every Stage
The Research Grant Awards support investigators at all career stages—from early-career researchers to established leaders—whose work addresses critical gaps in our understanding of celiac disease biology, management, and patient care.
Funded projects span basic, translational, and clinical science, with a shared goal of advancing meaningful progress for patients and families living with celiac disease.
A Decade of Impact
Since launching its first Research Grant Award in 2016, the Foundation has helped catalyze major advancements in celiac disease research—from understanding the immune response to gluten, to exploring novel therapeutic targets, to improving diagnostic accuracy.
Through these grant awards, the Foundation continues to fuel scientific excellence and ensure that celiac disease remains a priority for researchers and institutions worldwide.
