The Celiac Disease Foundation is proud to play an active role in the 21st International Celiac Disease Symposium (ICDS), taking place November 17–20, 2026, in Melbourne, Australia. Foundation leaders and leadership of the Society For The Study Of Celiac Disease (SSCD) will present research and contribute to scientific, clinical, and patient-focused discussions throughout the symposium.
Marilyn Geller, Chief Executive Officer, will participate in Patient Empowerment: Driving Change in Celiac Disease panel. Vanessa Weisbrod, Chief Programs Officer, will participate in the Patient and Family Education session and will give an oral presentation on Foundation-led research examining dietary gluten exposure from shared fryers. Vanessa will also speak during the Screening Symposium on Day 1 about the Celiac Awareness and Pediatric Evaluation (CAPE) Act and the role of policy in advancing celiac disease screening. Anne Lee, Nutrition Education Advisor to the Foundation, will participate in the Nutrition and Dietetic Updates session.
From the Executive Council of SSCD, Marisa Stahl will participate in the Plenary on Triggers and Drivers. Marie Robert will contribute to Challenges & Advances in Histology. Ritu Verma will participate in the Clinical & Dietitian Education session. Maureen Leonard will present research during What Have Recent Celiac Therapy Trials Taught Us?. Nan Du and Christopher Cao will also present original research in the poster sessions. Stephanie Moleski will chair a session on Navigating Challenges, Opportunities, and International Perspectives. The participation of these scientific and clinical leaders reflects the Foundation’s role in supporting and advancing celiac disease research while ensuring that the experiences of people living with celiac disease are part of the research and conversations that shape the field.
