The SSCD — the professional society of leading clinicians, researchers, dietitians, and industry — will now operate as part of the Celiac Disease Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Committee, ensuring that cutting-edge science directly informs the Foundation’s programs, policies, and patient-centered initiatives. This model follows the successful example of other medical society and patient advocacy alignments, such as the National Scientific Advisory Committee of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, demonstrating the power of collaboration to advance science and improve patient outcomes.
The Foundation’s partnership with SSCD builds on a historic investment of more than $1.5 million this year to strengthen the scientific community advancing celiac disease research and education. From funding groundbreaking research grants to supporting investigator training and professional development, the Foundation is cultivating a robust pipeline of scientific leaders dedicated to celiac disease.
