Woodland Hills, CASeptember 4, 2025 — The Celiac Disease Foundation today announced the launch of its Clinical Trials Site Advisory Council, a global panel of academic researchers, principal investigators, and clinical research coordinators. The Council is part of iRecruitCeliac™, the Foundation’s business offering that integrates recruitment and trial-support services. By embedding real-world site expertise into trial design and operations, the Council helps sponsors and clinical research organizations (CROs) speed enrollment, improve retention, and bring urgently needed treatments closer to people with celiac disease worldwide.

“The Site Advisory Council strengthens our iRecruitCeliac™ services by bringing site-level expertise into the heart of recruitment and retention,” said Marilyn Geller, Chief Executive Officer of the Celiac Disease Foundation. “This global collaboration ensures that sponsors not only launch faster and keep participants engaged, but also directly advances our mission to accelerate breakthroughs in treatments and a cure for celiac disease.”

“Sponsors need insights that reflect how studies actually run — how coordinators contact patients, why certain windows get missed, and what resources sites truly have,” said Robert Anderson, MB ChB, PhD, President of the International Society for the Study of Celiac Disease and the Foundation’s Principal Science & Innovation Advisor. “This Council is purpose-built to translate those realities into better protocols and faster, more reliable enrollment.”

Global Expertise, Patient-Centered Insight

The Council unites experts from leading clinical trial sites across all global regions — including North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific — ensuring that diverse site realities and patient experiences inform every stage of study design. By integrating this insight, the Council helps sponsors and CROs:

  • Anticipate and overcome enrollment barriers before they slow recruitment.
  • Align expectations with real-world site capabilities.
  • Refine study design and patient engagement strategies to boost retention.
  • Strengthen collaboration across international trial sites.
Integrated With iRecruitCeliac™

The Council is fully integrated into iRecruitCeliac™, the Foundation’s umbrella of services to support clinical trial sponsors and CROs. These services include iQualifyCeliac™, the Foundation’s proprietary software platform that reduces screen fails and site burden, and iCureCeliac®, its global patient registry. Together, they form the most comprehensive ecosystem to accelerate clinical research in celiac disease.
