Are you interested in advancing research toward treatment and a cure for celiac disease? The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center is enrolling patients for a clinical study testing the effectiveness of a pill for celiac disease. CDF is proud to support the efforts of Medical Advisory Board member, Stefano Guandalini, MD, and CDF Research Committee member, Sonia Kupfer, MD as they test Montelukast, a drug that is FDA-approved for the treatment of asthma, for the treatment of celiac disease. - Have celiac disease
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have been on a gluten-free diet for at least one year
- Be willing to eat bread containing gluten
If enrolled, you will be given the drug or a placebo and be asked to:
