Introduction:

Meet Dr. Liia Ramachandra, CEO and Founder of EpiLynx by Dr. Liia, a gluten-free, hypoallergenic skincare and cosmetic brand for those with sensitive skin, autoimmune disorders, and allergies. Diagnosed with psoriasis at an early age and non-celiac gluten sensitivity as an adult, Dr. Liia understands the barriers faced by those in our community and is committed to raising awareness of celiac disease and providing the gluten-free community with high-quality skincare products.

1. Tell us a little about yourself and your gluten-free journey.

Diagnosed at an early age with psoriasis, I needed to figure out how to minimize my skin lesions and suffering. On my journey toward healing, I learned that gluten could be exacerbating my psoriasis symptoms. Once I eliminated gluten from my diet, I no longer needed UV light therapy for my psoriasis. With time, the lesions on my skin began to disappear.

2. What motivated you to start EpiLynx?

I researched various skincare and household products and was surprised to find that there are hidden sources of gluten in many of the products we use on a daily basis, that could be inadvertently ingested. I could not find skincare and cosmetics that were 100% gluten-free, allergen-free, and that would work for my skin.

I started EpiLynx by Dr. Liia with a focus on curating products for those with celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity, autoimmune conditions, and sensitive skin. We strive to provide high-quality skincare and cosmetic products that are suitable for all skin types.

4. There are other gluten-free and allergen-friendly skincare products out there. What makes your products different?

EpiLynx by Dr. Liia is committed to producing clean, ethical, and organic skin care cosmetics that are safe for the gluten-free community. Clean for us means free of the most common allergens, such as wheat, nuts, shellfish, dairy, parabens, and phthalates.

We do extensive research through medical and consumer literature in order to find out what ingredients and allergens are most problematic for the consumer. Then we are able to create clean, hypoallergenic products that meet our consumers’ needs.

5. Do you have any new products on the horizon that you would like our gluten-free community to know about?

We have a wide range of products that are suitable for adults and children. We carry various lines for sensitive, aging/mature, eczema, acne, and psoriasis prone skin, etc. Our continued focus will be on producing products that are gluten-free, hypoallergenic, and cruelty free.
