Did you know that there are gluten-free summer camps that offer fun and peace of mind for children and teens with celiac disease? These are just a few of the options available this summer! Camp Celiac 

July 15-20 
Livermore, CA 

Camp Celiac at Camp Arroyo is for children ages 9 through 15 who are diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. Sponsored by the Taylor Family Foundation, the camp was established in 2007 to serve kids in Northern California. Campers can enjoy a variety of traditional camp activities, while receiving three delicious gluten-free meals a day! This year’s camp will be July 15 through July 20, and registration opened on February 1.

Camp Celiac 

July 28-August 2 
Hardwick, NJ  

This camp is for children ages 8 to 16 with celiac disease. They have a variety of outdoor activities for campers to enjoy, all while ensuring they have a safe gluten-free environment. The property is situated on 145 acres of woods, fields, and trails, including a pool, small lake for boating and fishing, archery range, ropes course, nature center, outdoor sports fields, a gymnasium, dining hall, health lodge, and much more. This year’s camp will be from July 28 through August 2, and be on the lookout on their website for when camp registration opens in February.

Farmer, Forester, Chef Camp 

August 12-16 
Dover, MA 

This day camp, located at Powisett Farm, has several sessions for children ages 6 to 11 throughout the summer, but they have a reserved session in connection with Boston Children’s Hospital Celiac Kids Connection specifically for gluten-free campers! In this exciting week, campers will enjoy a farm-fresh, gluten-free cooking class each day. Campers with celiac disease, on a gluten-free diet, or a supportive member/relative of a family member managing a gluten-free diet are invited to participate in this session. A code provided by the Boston Children’s Hospital Celiac Kids Connection is required to register. Note: Campers will be required to bring a nutritious gluten-free lunch and gluten-free snacks with them each day. This camp takes place August 12 through August 16, and registration is currently open.
