The Celiac Disease Foundation is proud to recognize the Kornblau family as the 2019 Celiac Disease Foundation Volunteers of the Year. Their outstanding commitment to the Foundation and celiac community is an inspiration to all of us.
Zoey Kornblau was diagnosed with celiac disease in June 2016, just one month after turning four. In support of Zoey and the 3 million Americans living with celiac disease, the Kornblau family has participated in the annual Celiac Disease Foundation New York Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run/Walk every November since 2016. The Kornblaus, or “Team Queen” as they’ve creatively titled their fundraising team, have worn matching shirts – as evidenced in the video – and are consistently a top fundraising team at the event. The Kornblaus are also regular attendees of the annual Celiac Disease Foundation New York Golf outing. Their steadfast involvement and dedication to raising funds and awareness for celiac disease research has had a profound impact on the celiac disease community.
The Kornblaus’ efforts are a remarkable example of the passion and leadership that strengthen our community in our fight to solve celiac disease. If you are inspired to help or want to find out more about volunteer efforts, please visit our Team Gluten-Free page or email [email protected].
