Celiac.org has a new look. With more than 6.5 million unique visitors annually, Celiac.org is, by far, the most visited celiac disease site in the world. This new look, created specifically for our online community of celiac disease patients and caregivers, healthcare professionals and researchers, as well as our general visitors, offers a streamlined design, improved functionality and navigation, and enriched content. More than a year in the making, Celiac.org 2.0 is designed to advance the Foundation’s mission to accelerate diagnosis, treatments, and a cure for celiac disease.
Celiac.org features an expanded lineup of educational resources and research-driven tools. For example, showcased are improvements to the Foundation’s widely used Symptoms Assessment Tool, an interactive questionnaire that now reports if you or your loved one is at an increased risk for celiac disease. If you are at risk, you may receive a copy of the results to take to your physician to discuss testing for celiac disease. The Tool is linked to the Foundation’s online Healthcare Practitioner Directory, helping you find physicians and dietitians familiar with treating celiac disease in your local area. The website also links to iCureCeliac®, the nation’s largest public celiac disease patient registry, and a newly developed clinical-trial screening tool, iQualifyCeliac. We are especially excited about iQualifyCeliac because it facilitates patient participation in all-important, FDA-approved clinical trials to advance the development of treatments and a cure for celiac disease by matching qualified patients to current clinical trials. New offerings also include an updated Eat! Gluten-Free, displaying gluten-free products, services, meal plans and recipes. As always, Celiac.org continues to provide the latest in biomedical and epidemiology research, patient and provider education, important patient advocacy, and ways individuals can support the Foundation.
We are committed to improving the lives of celiac disease patients and their caregivers. I encourage you to test-drive our new site and let us know what you think. Did you find the information you needed? Were the tools of help? Are you inspired to donate, fundraise or participate in a clinical trial for new treatments and a cure? You can send your thoughts to [email protected]. I read every one.
