ISSCD-SSCD Prize for Excellence in Celiac Disease Research
The ISSCD–SSCD Prize for Excellence in Celiac Disease Research recognizes investigators whose research has made a meaningful contribution to the field of celiac disease. The Prize is awarded biennially in the amount of $5,000 and is announced jointly by the International Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (ISSCD) and the Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (SSCD).
Eligibility
The Prize is open to researchers whose work has made a significant contribution to celiac disease research through clinical, translational, or transformative science. Employees of for-profit pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies are not eligible. Prior Prize Laureates and previous recipients of the Warren Prize for Excellence in Celiac Disease Research or the Maki Celiac Disease Tampere Prize are not eligible for nomination.
Nominations
The Prize is not open to self-application. Nominations are made by peers in the celiac disease research community through an open call. Full nomination guidelines are detailed in the Prize charter.
Selection
A selection jury reviews all nominations and deliberates confidentially. The names of unselected nominees are not disclosed. The Prize Laureate is announced jointly by ISSCD and SSCD.
Recognition
The Prize Laureate will be recognized and invited to share brief remarks at the ICDS Gala Dinner.
Nominations open June 1, 2026 and close July 31, 2026.
