On December 11, 2019, CEO Marilyn G. Geller was with Senator Blumenthal’s legislative staff as Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) introduced S.3021: Gluten in Medicine Disclosure Act of 2019 to the Senate. The Celiac Disease Foundation is proud to be a partner in this effort.
Due to our community’s impressive efforts, there are now 47 cosponsors of the House version, HR 2074: Gluten in Medicine Disclosure Act of 2019. Now is the time to secure cosponsors for the Senate version. We are thankful for the leadership of Senator Blumenthal (D-CT), Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH), and Congressman Tom Cole (R-OK), for their support of this important legislation that will make it easier and safer for individuals with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity to make informed purchases of needed medications.
Please take one minute to email your Senators to urge them to become a cosponsor. We also ask that you email your Representatives to continue to rally House support. Our software handles everything for you, including a pre-populated message with the ability for you to personalize it, and email delivery to your Senators and Representatives.
Please join us in asking your Members of Congress to cosponsor this legislation. We will only succeed if you stand up now and make your voice heard.
