Registered dietitians are essential members of the healthcare team for individuals with celiac disease, guiding diagnosis, treatment, and the everyday realities of maintaining a gluten-free diet. Their expertise extends far beyond nutrition counseling: they are also educators, advocates, and researchers.
To strengthen our educational programming and strategic initiatives, this winter, we launched the Celiac Disease Foundation Dietitian Advisory Council (CDF-DAC), which is comprised of celiac disease nutrition experts from across the United States. In 2025, the DAC will focus on:
- Developing high-quality, evidence-based resources and programs for both patients and providers.
- Advancing nutrition-focused research and setting priorities for future research.
- Supporting policy and advocacy initiatives.
- Expanding outreach to underserved communities and addressing barriers to care.
The Dietitian Advisory Council is lead by Meghan Donnelly, MS, RDN, CDN, Director of Health Communications at the Celiac Disease Foundation. Members include:
- Anne Roland Lee, EdD, RDN, LD
- Jessica Lebovits, RD
- Janelle Smith, MS, RDN, CEDS
- Sharon Weston, MS, RD, CSP, LDN
- Melinda Dennis, MS, RDN, LD
- Joanna Perl, MS, RDN
- Sadie Nagle, MS, RD, LD
- Renee Euler, MS, RDN
Together, the CDF-DAC will strengthen the Celiac Disease Foundation’s ability to lead in research, policy development, and professional education for celiac disease.
