As we continue our journey toward advancing awareness and understanding of celiac disease, it is crucial that we reflect on improving detection of celiac disease so that together we can address the factors and barriers that hinder diagnosis and support.
Too many individuals still struggle to access healthcare, diagnosis, and treatment for celiac disease, facing obstacles such as limited availability of healthcare resources, diagnostic testing, and adequate education and support. Additionally, financial and logistical challenges further contribute to low detection rates.
The Celiac Disease Foundation is dedicated to improving detection rates within the celiac disease community. We’ve partnered with the Society for the Study of Celiac Disease to establish the Improving Detection in Celiac Disease Research award, providing up to $100,000 over two years to support research into the factors affecting celiac disease diagnosis, management and treatment. Additionally, we’re collaborating with multiple organizations to provide feedback to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on enhancing celiac disease representation in clinical trials. Recognizing the significant impact of food insecurity due to the higher cost of gluten-free foods, we’ve also launched the Celiac Disease Foundation Food Insecurity Resource Network to assist families in need, building upon our advocacy efforts to address this critical issue.
This month, I urge each of you to reflect on how we can foster a better healthcare landscape. Let us strive to amplify the voice of our community, advocate for improved healthcare practices, and champion policies that promote access to diagnosis, treatment, and support services for individuals with celiac disease.
By making a donation today, you can contribute to our efforts to drive meaningful change and create a future where everyone affected by celiac disease receives the care they deserve.
Thank you for your ongoing dedication to our shared mission of advancing celiac disease awareness, advocacy, and support.
