Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this program for?
This program is open to anyone, but it is especially helpful for individuals who are newly diagnosed with celiac disease, do not have access to a Celiac Disease Center, or would like additional guidance navigating the gluten-free diet. We hope to see you there!
Does it cost anything to sign up for the program?
Nope! Thanks to the incredible generosity of one of our donors, The Foundations of Celiac Disease Nutrition Education Program is offered at no cost to participants.
What topics are covered in the program?
The curriculum includes six core sessions covering key aspects of celiac disease management, including the gluten-free diet, preventing cross-contact, follow-up care and monitoring, optimizing nutrition, psychosocial considerations, and managing co-occurring conditions. Sessions are designed to provide both foundational knowledge and practical, real-world strategies.
How is the program delivered?
All of our sessions are held virtually and in a group format. Each session includes structured educational content, and dedicated live Q&A sessions are also built into the program, allowing participants to ask questions and receive guidance directly from our experts.
What if I can't attend all of the sessions?
While participants are encouraged to attend all six sessions to gain the full benefit of the program, we understand that might not always be possible. All participants who register for the program will receive a recording of each session afterwards, in case they missed the session or would like to review what was covered.
Is this program right for me if I already follow a gluten-free diet?
While this program was designed with newly-diagnosed patients in mind, individuals who have been gluten-free for some time may find value in this program and are more than welcome to attend!
Does this program replace medical or nutrition care from my healthcare provider?
No. This program is intended for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Please consult your physician, dietitian, or a qualified health provider regarding your specific medical condition. We can only present evidence-based information about managing celiac disease and gluten-free living without diagnosing or treating specific conditions during the program.
