IRA Charitable Rollover
Giving through your IRA (Individual Retirement Account) is a flexible, meaningful way to give back to the celiac disease community while providing you with substantial tax advantages and simultaneously making an immense impact.
If you are 70½ or older, you may also be interested in a way to lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals. An IRA charitable rollover, also commonly known as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD), allows individuals at this age or above to donate up to $105,000 total directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions. Your contribution to the Celiac Disease Foundation through your QCD affects the lives of those with celiac disease and comes with great benefits for you.
Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover
- Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $105,000 from your IRA to the Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF)
- May satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year
- Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
- Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts
- Help further the work and mission of CDF
How an IRA charitable rollover gift works
- Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to CDF.
- Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to CDF to help continue our important work together.
- Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.
- Please contact us if you wish for your gift to be designated to a specific focus area of CDF.
Information you’ll need to complete a QCD:
Legal name: Celiac Disease Foundation
Tax ID number: 95-4310830
Address: 5850 Canoga Ave. 4th Floor Woodland Hills, CA 91367
Please notify us when you request a QCD so that your gift can be identified when it arrives. It is helpful to let us know the financial institution that will be issuing the check and the contribution amount. Many financial institutions do not include the donor’s name on the check.
Consult with your tax adviser or other financial professional to determine whether a QCD could benefit you.
Every gift, no matter how large or small, helps improve the lives of those affected by celiac disease. By contributing to the Celiac Disease Foundation through a QCD, you’ll support advocacy, critical research, and essential education, bringing us closer to a cure.
