What products are eligible for Crossed Grain Trademark gluten-free product certification?

Only multiple ingredient or processed products are eligible. Single ingredient items like fresh fruits, vegetables, and water are not.

What documentation is required?

You’ll need to provide ingredient lists manufacturing processes, and other relevant food safety documentation. 

What is the required gluten threshold?

Due to test variability, proof of product testing <15ppm is required for Crossed Grain Trademark use, with testing performed by an ISO 17025 accredited lab.

How often must products be tested?

Products must be tested once annually

What does the audit process include?

Audits review ingredients, cleaning procedures, packaging, staff training, storage, product testing, and complaint handling.

Who conducts the audits?

Audits must be performed by a third-party auditor according to the AOECS Standard for Gluten-Free Foods 

How is product packaging verified?

The Celiac Disease Foundation must review and approve packaging before use of the trademark. 

Is there a fee?

Yes, fees vary depending on the turnover and exports of the gluten-free products being certified.
