ISSCD-SSCD Young Investigator Prize
The ISSCD–SSCD Young Investigator Prize recognizes early-career investigators whose research has made a meaningful contribution to the field of celiac disease. The Prize is awarded biennially in the amount of $7,500 and is announced jointly by the International Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (ISSCD) and the Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (SSCD).
Eligibility
The Prize is open to investigators holding an MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree who are within ten years of their first academic or research appointment and working in an academic or clinical research setting at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor or equivalent. Time away from research for parental leave or other qualifying career interruptions will not be counted against this eligibility window. Employees of for-profit pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies are not eligible. Prior Prize Laureates are not eligible for nomination.
Nominations
The Prize is not open to self-application. Nominations are made by peers in the celiac disease research community through an open call. Full nomination guidelines are detailed in the Prize rules document.
Selection
A selection jury reviews all nominations and deliberates confidentially. The names of unselected nominees are not disclosed. The Prize Laureate is announced jointly by ISSCD and SSCD.
Recognition
The Prize Laureate will be recognized and invited to share brief remarks at the ICDS Gala Dinner.
Nominations open June 1, 2026 and close July 31, 2026.
