Displaying the Crossed Grain Trademark communicates that your product meets the highest standards for gluten-free safety – a critical factor for the millions of people with celiac disease and gluten-related disorders.

The Crossed Grain Trademark stands out among gluten-free certifications due to its widespread international use and rigorous standards. It is recognized by consumers across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and now North America. Backed by decades of expertise from leading organizations worldwide, it offers unparalleled assurance of gluten-free safety to consumers around the globe.

The program is owned and administered by the Celiac Disease Foundation. Businesses who meet the program requirements are eligible to use the Crossed Grain Trademark on their products. The Crossed Grain Trademark represents that the product is gluten-free to the applicable regulatory standard:

  • For products sold in the United States, this means meeting the US FDA standard of less than 20ppm of gluten.
  • For products sold in Canada, this means meeting the Health Canada gluten-free standard of 20ppm of gluten or less.

Our program is aligned with the U.S. FDA gluten-free labeling rule, which allows for the inclusion of ingredients like oats and gluten-free wheat starch when properly processed to remove gluten and tested to contain less than 20 parts per million (ppm).
