School and Workplace Celiac Health Awareness Program

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Through the Celiac Health Awareness Program, CDF provides education on celiac disease and non-celiac wheat sensitivity to more than 500 school health workers annually. CDF staff and volunteers also conduct workplace “lunch and learn” programs throughout the country.

The Celiac Health Awareness Program (CHAP), spearheaded by CDF volunteer Program Coordinator, Kris Ledesma, MSN, RN, is a great way to get involved with your local schools and businesses and help raise awareness of celiac disease in your community. The goal of CHAP is to increase the diagnosis rate, raise awareness, and educate the public about celiac disease and non-celiac wheat sensitivity and their impact on those affected. Kris conducts live, educational, in-service programs for nurses and school health personnel in southern California. She is available to present via webinar to allied health and corporate wellness personnel, and to train licensed healthcare professionals to offer this program in their own community.
