In honor of May Celiac Disease Awareness Month, the Celiac Disease Foundation is proud to announce our expanded partnership with the Children’s National Health System Celiac Disease Program, dedicated to improving the way pediatric celiac disease is diagnosed and treated. The Program recently developed the Celiac Disease and Gluten-Free Diet Digital Resource Center to house all of their innovative educational initiatives together in one, easy-to-navigate tool. This informative app provides accessible gluten-free diet and celiac disease education to patients and their families, and is available globally in the iTunes App Store here or the Android Marketplace here.
Within the app, users will find a host of helpful resources including video guides for getting started on a gluten-free diet, safe and unsafe ingredient lists, nutrition education and cooking videos, and weekly webcasts for living a gluten-free lifestyle. In addition to these valuable tools, the app provides continuing education seminars led by experts, an events calendar with regularly scheduled classes, and a news feed with articles on hot topics in the celiac disease and gluten-free communities. The Celiac Disease Program also hosts a bi-weekly podcast, The Gluten-Free Guide Podcast, which has more than 4,400 listeners and streams via BlogTalkRadio here and the iTunes Podcast Stream here.
The Celiac Disease Foundation first partnered with Children’s National Health System in February of 2016 to launch the Resnick Celiac Disease & Gluten-Related Psychological Health Training. The free online program provides continuing education to primary care and mental health providers about the psychological impacts of celiac disease, empowering healthcare providers to identify and treat both the medical and mental aspects of the disease. We are pleased to continue our exciting collaboration with Children’s National through contributing to the Celiac Disease Program’s latest materials and sharing them with our celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitive communities. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more information on when you can tune in to listen and watch the Celiac Disease Program’s latest podcasts and videos!
