A year has passed since Celiac Disease Foundation launched its patient registry, iCureCeliac®. Since our launch, 2,300 participants have contributed their medical information and experiences living with celiac disease and non-celiac wheat/gluten sensitivity. This information will help researchers to better understand, develop treatments for, and ultimately cure celiac disease.

Based on our recent data analysis of iCureCeliac®, here are some interesting findings our participants reported about sexual activity while living with celiac disease:

  • 70% reported that fatigue or lack of energy has affected their satisfaction with their sex life
  • 56% reported that gastrointestinal symptoms have affected their satisfaction with their sex life
  • 50% reported that other symptoms have affected their satisfaction with their sex life
  • 49% reported that pain has affected their satisfaction with their sex life

In addition to improving treatments and finding a cure for celiac disease, iCureCeliac® is helping researchers appreciate the realities of living with celiac disease, helping to influencing what they choose to research and why.

Your data can shape the types of research studies to be conducted that are most beneficial to you – the patient. Add your data today!
