Alicia Calvo, M.P.H., R.D., C.D.E. Owner Medical Nutrition Network, LLC, Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Loyola Marymount University; a Master’s of Public Health from UCLA and completed her dietetic internship at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in West Los Angeles. In addition, she holds a certificate of training in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management.
Alicia began her career as a clinical dietitian for children and adolescents and developed a nutrition education program for the Camarillo State Hospital Developmental Center. She implemented corporate wellness programs for major corporations including the executives at Sony Pictures Entertainment, the employees of Disney Worldwide Services and retired adults at Rockwell International. She has been engaged as a public speaker for various professional associations and community groups, such as the Celiac Disease Foundation, the American Diabetes Association and local churches and synagogues. She interviewed and appeared as a media spokesperson on numerous nutrition topics. She also served as adjunct professor at Pepperdine University.
Alicia, a mother of two, has been a full-time consulting dietitian in private practice at Medical Nutrition Network, LLC for twenty-two years where she provides individualized medical nutrition therapy, group classes and nutrition seminars. She speaks Spanish and works with Spanish speaking patients. Her areas of specialty are diabetes, weight management, pediatric and adolescent nutrition, family nutrition, eating disorders, cardiovascular disease, pre-natal nutrition, women’s health, food allergies, nutrition and wellness, geriatric nutrition, renal disease, and gastro-intestinal disorders. email@example.com
